Newbies November 2013

Newbies 2013_11

You have no idea how happy I am writing a newbie post that doesn’t contain a ginormeous amount of books! Maybe this is going to be an incentive to reduce my hauls. Haha, I’m kidding – I already preordered my 2014 must-haves this month as a reward for having such a great month in the TBR-Reduction-Challenge. That’s the logic of a book-buying addict. Anyways, I’m happy to announce that I was able to fulfill this months task and saved € 8.50 (which I already invested in a CD) as well as actually reducing my TBR pile by 5 books!

  1. Curtsies & Conspiracies (Finishing School, #2) by Gail Carriger

Gail Carriger is definitely becoming one of my favourite authors. I love her writing style so very much and her novels are always extremely entertaining, this one being no exception. I loved every single page of it.

  2. Auf Wiedersehen, Trockadero by Diane Karlstrom
    [LT: Goodbye, Trockadero]
  3. Abenteuer Wanderritt (Ferien auf dem Sonnenhof, #9) by Andrea Wandel
    [LT: Trail Ride Adventure]

The two newest additon to my PonyClub collection. Slowly but steadily, I’m catching up.

  4. Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
    [dt. Dash & Lilys Winterwunder]

Apparently, this is the ultimate Christmas read. When my reading circle on Goodreads decided to choose it as our December read, because everyone is planning to reread it anyway, I decided that it is time for me to finally read it. I’m really looking forward to it.

  5. Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) by Richelle Mead
    [dt. Seelenruf (Vampire Academy, #5)]
  6. Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead
    [dt. Schicksalsbande (Vampire Academy, #6)]

I haven’t even started the series yet, so why did I buy these two? Well, when I heard that there would be new (and pretty awful covers, imo), I just panicked and decided I had to complete my collection as soon as possible in order to get the editions with the people on the cover. You have no idea how much time I spent looking for the right ISBNs, comparing a couple of online sellers and getting more confused by the minute. In the end, I got very very lucky, because I ended up with exactly the right editions. If you are looking for matching editions, try to look for the Razorbill export editions. Apparently, they haven’t changed these covers yet or still have them in stock.

  7. The First Star to Fall (For Darkness Shows the Stars, #1.5) by Diana Peterfreund

Oh well, it was for free! Don’t judge me!
