Good morning everyone – or rather, good night! Just a “very short” update before I turn off the lights.
Shortly after I wrote my last update, I picked up The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line again and finished it about half an hour ago. I just couldn’t put it down again. It’s brilliant, it’s awesome, it’s Veronica Mars, where nothing is as it seems. I loved it so very much. When you’re so familiar with the TV series and the movie as I am because I just happened to watch them over the course of last month, the novel just appears like another episode. I just saw everything in my head, heard the actors speaking their parts. And the continuity is pretty much perfect. There’s one scene in which Veronica checks out a motel in a missing girl case and the whole scene reminded me of an episode with a similar case – two sentences later and said case was mentioned. Brilliant! There are only two small problems I had: first, it’s a little awkward that it is not written in first person but it does not take long to get used to it. Second, watching three season/64 episodes of teenage Veronica and just one movie with late twenties Veronica, I’m still not used to picture the latter in this novel. However, that’s a personal thing, and I didn’t mind at all. Whether she’s 19 or 28, Veronica Mars is brilliant!
Hiya! I just changed the sheets and feel like I ran a marathon. Such a struggle! In about half an hour, I will bring the package I told you about to the post office. I wasn’t able to do so yesterday, because I wasn’t feeling well and I have to walk there because I don’t have a car. Afterwards, I will embark on a blog round since I wasn’t able to do that yesterday and then I will probably start reading. I don’t know what it will be today. I thought I would choose The Bone Season but right now I don’t feel like it. I think I will start with a couple of pages of The Casual Vacancy to get going and then switch to Prodigy. Oh, and I just posted my Newbies post, so if you want to look at pretty bookish pictures, just follow the link!
Just finished my blog round and now I’m going to reward myself with the GoT Twitter recap. God, I just love these recaps! And maybe afterwards I will finally be able to start reading.
