Around the World 2015

Challenge hosted by Crini @ All About Books

I actually made a map for 2014 but totally lost track in February. Yes, epic fail! I just didn’t have such a nice incentive. The main goal is to visit as many different and preferably exotic places as possible. There are furthermore a couple of more or less difficult mini challenges, which are totally optional. Speaking of optional, the whole challenge is just for fun and there will be no prizes. For more information and to sing up, visit Crini’s introductory post.

Not only am I going to participate, I will also work on my very own version of EpicRead’s ‘Planet YA’ maps. They are just so pretty! Naturally, this is a long-term project because I won’t be reading 195 books in 2015 for sure. Still, let’s see how it goes.

My Map

The Mini Challenges

There are twelve challenges in total, but I won’t be participating in all of them, mostly because I can’t remember ever reading a book set around one of those mountains, poles, or extreme points and I’m pretty sure that I don’t have anything suitable on my TBR. Furthermore, I won’t set myself any goals for the open challenges, but I will keep track of all matching books further below.

  1. One Book for Each Continent (2/7)

The most difficult will be Antarctica for sure. I can’t remember ever reading a book that was set there.

  2. One Book for Each State in the US (6/50)

This means I’ll have to read more contemporary and/or paranormal/urban fantasy novels. I don’t think it’s going to happen, though. I’m going to be glad if I manage half of them.
