Each year, there’s a number of books I can’t wait to get my hands on, but as soon as I have them, it’s just not meant to be: I’m not in the right mood. I have to read other books first. I don’t have the time to reread the previous books in the series. I lose interest. Here is the top ten of said books in chronological order …

I can’t imagine a life without music. Songs are the key to my memory. It is truly amazing what I remember when I hear a specific song, sometimes to the point that I get goosebumps or even start to cry because I’m catapulted into a specific moment of the past. Music is memories and emotions, the past, the present, an alternate reality, challenges and triumphs, happiness and sadness, friends, landscapes and journeys, love and hate, films, series, and of course, books …

I got lucky and discovered a couple of amazing authors this year! …

Usually, I’m not planning too far ahead but here are the books I really really really want to read in 2014 – and most of them are already preordered! Some of them are installments in a series I’m loving, some I found via Goodreads friends, and other drew me in by their gorgeous covers, or titles, or blurbs …

Even though my reading month of August ended a little early since I went on a short holiday on the 26th until the 3rd of September, I was able to improve my stats ginormeously. I increased the number of pages read and finished a smashing number of nine books. This makes August my third best reading month so far this year. Most surprisingly, I was able to fulfil my goal of reducing my TBR pile by two books this month. This is only the second time this year that I get a lottery ticket in the TBR reduction extreme challenge. I still can’t believe it for I went book shopping in both Munich and Berlin! …

I couldn’t live through two consecutive months of book-buying bans, so I decided to postpone it. Still, I didnt’ get that much – compared to other months. Nevertheless, I definitely buy too many books. I just can’t help it …
