  1. Seelenkuss by Lynn Raven
    [LT: Soul Kiss]

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this novel and bought it the day it came out. Still, I haven’t read more  than 30 pages. As much as I want to continue, I’m a little scared that I won’t like it as much as her other novels, especially since I have incredibly high expectations.

  2. Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson & Lauren Myracle
    [dt. Tage wie diese]

No matter where I am, I always end up in a bookshop. This time, it was the Thalia at the Donauzentrum in Vienna, which is ginormous and a nightmare the days before Christmas. I couldn’t resist since it was cheap and I just wanted another Christmassy read.

  3. Inside the TARDIS: The Worlds of Doctor Who by James Chapman

Found this one in my beloved Shakespeare & Company bookshop in Vienna. Although it was very expensive, I decided that I had to get it. I already read it and found it quite interesting although it would have been even better if I’d known the classic series.

  4. Jäger der Sonne (Sonnenfängerin, #2) by Angela Dorsey & Marina Miller
[OT: Sun Chaser (Sun Catcher, #2)]
  5. Wege des Schicksals (Logan, #2) by Jane Ayres
    [OT:  Heartbreak Horse (Logan, #2)]
  6. Eine Stute mit Biss (Vollblut, #52) by Joanna Campbell
    [OT: Perfect Challenge (Thoroughbred, #52)]
  7. Pferde: Das schönste auf der Welt by Tinne R. Kamm & Laura Hammer Jakobsen
[LT: Horses: The Most Beautiful in the Whole Wide World]
  8. Besser reiten by Jo Bird
    [OT: Better Riding]

As always, here are the newest additions to my PonyClub/Pony/PennyGirl collection. Although I’m almost up to date, it’s getting more and more difficult to get the novels, especially since our message board is going to be taken down any day now.

Christmas

  1. Die schreckliche deutsche Sprache by Mark Twain
    [OT: The Awful German Language]

This was the only novel I didn’t wish for and therefore the only surprise. It was really interesting and partly quite funny, since German definitely has a couple of quirks which seem to be totally mindless.

  2. The Guards (Jack Taylor, #1) by Ken Bruen
[dt. Jack Taylor fliegt raus (Jack Taylor, #1)]

This is so not my type of genre. A couple of months ago, my sister told me about a crime series that’s set in Galway, Ireland, the very city in which I spent my semester abroad, the city I love and adore and know to a certain extend quite well. When I found out that it’s based on a book series, I couldn’t resist to check it out.

  3. Strands of Bronze and Gold (Strands, #1) by Jane Nickerson
[dt. So wie Kupfer und Gold]

I’ve been creeping around this novel for quite some time now. I love the Bluebeard tale, it’s so wonderfully dark and gloomy and morbid. Let’s just hope that this is a great retelling of the fairy tale.

  4. Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (Between, #1) by April Genevieve Tucholke [dt. Fürchte nicht das tiefe blaue Meer]

I wasn’t really aware of the novel until Sandy @ Nightingale’s reviewed the German edition. I instantly was drawn to it.

  5. Frostfeuer by Kai Meyer
    [LT: Frost Fire]

There’s a little story behind this one: Once upon a time, Frostfeuer was one of my sister’s Christmas presents. However, she chose the audiobook and this gorgeous hardcover disappeared in one of my mums cupboards. I’d forgotten all about it for a very very long time, but remembered this summer when I started my quest to get every single novel Kai Meyer has ever published. So I started nagging her, but she didn’t give in. I almost expected it to be one of my Christmas presents this year, so I had to smile when I unwrapped it.

  6. These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1) by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

I could stare hours upon hours at this beautiful cover. I also heard great things about it, so I really hope I will like it.

  7. The Bone Season (The Bone Season, #1) by Samantha Shannon
[dt. Die Träumerin (The Bone Season, #1)]

Everyone is talking about it. Everyone loves it. I just had to have it, too!

  • The Bone Season musst du unbedingt lesen.

  • BONE SEASON BONE SEASON BONE SEASON!!!

Let It Snow war wirklich sehr schön.

  • I love that new edition of Let it Snow! I have the older, white one which is still pretty but I like this one more!

Is everyone getting These Broken Stars? >.< It sure seems like it. I don't even like the cover that much but it's one of those big HC I love so much <3

    • Oh yes, it’s awfully pretty! That’s basically what made me buy it. It also shimmers in the light. Very nice and snowy and Christmassy.

Absolutely ;D ! While I really adore the cover, I’m indifferent to its size (as long as the sequels will fit). However, if the cover’s not your type, you could just ignore it and admire its size.
